Flying to Visakhapatnam? Please note that the airport has changed. All scheduled commercial flights to and from Visakhapatnam now operate from Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, Bhogapuram, using the airport code VTZ. Scheduled passenger operations shifted to the new airport on 17 August 2026. Please do not proceed to the former city airport at INS Dega.

The new airport is outside central Visakhapatnam, so delegates should plan adequate travel time between the airport, their hotel and AMTZ.

APSRTC Aero Express services connect Bhogapuram Airport with different parts of Visakhapatnam through the ASR-1 and ASR-2 corridors. The detailed route, boarding points, fares and timings should sit in the separate bus information sheet rather than on this page. Your delegate guide already explains which corridors are useful for central Vizag, Gajuwaka, NAD, Siripuram and the railway-station area.

Delegates travelling by train should consider two railway stations:
This is the main railway station for Visakhapatnam and provides the widest choice of long-distance services.
Visakhapatnam has regular rail connectivity with major cities including Hyderabad/Secunderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, New Delhi, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar and several other cities. For example, current schedules include Vande Bharat and several other services from the Hyderabad/Secunderabad region, the AP Express from New Delhi and multiple services from Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

Duvvada is particularly useful for WHIF delegates because it is on the Steel Plant side of Visakhapatnam and geographically closer to the AMTZ corridor than the main city railway station.
A significant number of long-distance trains halt at Duvvada. However, not every train stops there, so delegates should confirm the halt before booking or deciding to alight at Duvvada. Indian Railways officially lists the station codes as VSKP – Visakhapatnam and DVD – Duvvada.
Tip for delegates: If your train stops at Duvvada (DVD), check its location relative to your hotel before deciding where to alight. For delegates proceeding directly towards AMTZ, Duvvada may be more convenient. For delegates staying in central Visakhapatnam, VSKP may be preferable.
